The Model EC110 is an all electronic engine control. It contains all the logic, timing and annunciation required for the automatic control and protection of an engine.

The fuel control logic on the Model EC110 is arranged as “energized to run” or ETR. A common alarm signal is given for any of the shutdown conditions.

The internal electronic speedswitch uses generator frequency to sense speed. It can be factory modified to accept a signal from a magnetic pickup for non generator set applications. The speedswitch contains additional circuitry to monitor the presence of the speedsignal. If the signal is lost while the unit is cranking the unit will shut down in approximately 5 seconds and the OVERSPEED light will flash to indicate loss of speedsignal. A flashing lamp is used to distinguish from a true overspeed shutdown. If the speedsignal is lost while the engine is running the starter motor does not re-engage during this 5 second interval.

Once the engine starts (speedswitch low opens) the crank signal is removed and the bypass timer is initiated. The oil pressure and coolant temperature shutdowns are inhibited until the end of this delay. The bypass delay timer is adjustable from 10 to 60 seconds.

The speedswitch high contact is adjustable from 90% to 120% of nominal speed. If the input frequency exceeds this setpoint, OVERSPEED shutdown is immediate. The speedswitch low contact is adjustable from 30% to 60% of nominal speed.

The Model EC110 can be factory fitted with options for cycle crank, time delay engine start, time delay cooldown and remote reset of annunciators. Cycle crank rest time is equal to the crank time. From one to four crank cycles can be selected by clipping jumpers on the back of the board.
